#BeHerChange Breakfast Gathering on 2 Dec 2017
Date: Saturday 2 Dec 2017
Time: 10.30 am - 12.30 pm
Venue: Blocs Inc Cafe @ Paya Lebar Square
*All meals come with a cup of coffee/tea*
You're invited to join us for breakfast. It is an opportunity for friends, family or workmates to get together over some good food and company to help support the global anti-trafficking movement.
The idea is simple. We're hosting a meal so that we can be the change we wish to see in our world, a world where women and children can live free from slavery and sexual exploitation.
There are 46 million victims trapped in modern day slavery today. Women and girls make up 98% of the victims trafficked for sexual exploitation. About 2 million children are exploited every year in the global sex trade. The average age of a trafficked victim is only 12 years old. Imagine the life this child has to lead till someone steps in to do something?
Proceeds from the breakfast go to providing dignified employment and personal development opportunities to women who seek an alternative to the sex industry. Through the sharing of ideas and experiences over a casual meal, we can also learn about how we can help those affected by trafficking and what we can do to make a difference. It is time for a movement to speak up for those whose voices cannot be heard and to be the change we wish to see in our world.
*Items from the Be Her Change Collection will be available for sale at $25 each. Come and purchase Christmas presents for loved ones.
